Golden Opportunities

You see them on Broadway, in magazines, up on the big – or not so big – screen…and they look fabulous! Wonder how you can dress like a star – while keeping your budget grounded? We’ve rolled out the red carpet for Lisa Kusner, the Assistant General Manager at Aurora Farms Premium Outlets. She’s put together some award worthy fashion ideas.

Question:First, which celebrities are we talking about? You're not going to try and dress us like Madonna or Brittany, are you?

Answer: Absolutely not! We’re focusing on actresses who have dazzled us for years – and who are still working their movie magic.

Question:Okay, who's up first? Give us an example.

Answer: Let’s start with Candice Bergen. She was a model – and photographer – in her twenties. We loved her as Murphy Brown in her forties. And then she went on to Boston Legal – and, at each stage, she looked fabulous, as you can see in this picture.
As you can see on our model, we’ve copied Candice’s strong, tailored look. This is very flattering. And while it’s clean and uncluttered, it’s still feminine.

Question:Next is Sigourney Weaver - and she'd done everything from :Gorillas in the Mist" to "Alien" To "Ghostbusters".

Answer: And now she’s in the movie “Avatar!” Just like her roles, she has a wide variety of taste in clothes, too! But, as you can see in this photo, Sigourney, like so many of us, likes comfortable clothes – but they can still be stylish, not messy.
Our model is showing a look that would fit Sigourney. Again, clean lines for the pants. A soft top offers a contrast to the fitted jeans – and yes, you can wear jeans pretty much at any age! It’s a great combination.

Question:Helen Mirren is our next classy celebrity.

Answer: You might know her from Prime Suspect on PBS or for her Oscar award winning role in “The Queen.”
She has a great look – sharp, confident, classic colors – with just a pop of bright color.
Our model is wearing a form-fitting dress and then soft jacket that is similar to styles Helen Mirren has worn. What’s great about this is that, while it flatters your figure, it also doesn’t reveal what you don’t want it to! And the jacket adds a great touch.

Question:Your last celebrity - Betty White - has been making us laugh for decades.

Answer: And she’s still at it! She was a big hit in the recent Sandra Bullock movie “The Proposal.” As you can see, Betty White does not shy away from bold patterns! And that can really enhance not only an outfit, but your mood!
Our model is wearing something I’m sure Betty would love. The color is great along with a great pattern. It’s comfortable, flowing.
