Wife Pushes for Her Husband's Dental Makeover
Show #425 Airing Sunday, 3/16/08

Sometimes we need a gentle push to get us where we want to go. And who better to nudge than a spouse. Here to explain how a wife lent a helping hand to get her husband the smile he desired is Dr. Steven Marsh and his patient, John Norman.

Question: John, what motivated you to consider a dental makeover?

Answer: Dr. Marsh had worked on my wife’s teeth and she liked the result. She was telling me that it would be a nice idea if I had some work done. My teeth were very out of alignment, and the color had changed over the years as well.
I do a lot of public speaking (involved in the King Tut exhibit and the Princess Diana exhibit). I had explored the option of orthodontics, but felt that I didn’t have the time to go through the process.

Question: What finally got you into the dentist's chair?

Answer: I fractured (split) a tooth. So once I went in to fix that, I decided to see what could be done for the alignment of my teeth as well.

Question: Dr. Marsh, what did you do in John's case?

Answer: It’s hard to see, but John came in to me with that fractured tooth. After hearing his traveling plans and knowing that he wanted to straighten his teeth, we instead redid them with crowns and veneers. It only took 3 months as opposed to the years it would have taken braces.

Question: Any more to the story?

Answer: Some time after the initial makeover, the fractured tooth was completely lost.

At this time, we used a dental implant. A titanium implant was used, and this abutment was built on top, and then crowned.

Question: John, what do you think of the result?

Answer: Fantastic. I’m 100% satisfied. This is a very convenient option as a quicker alternative to braces.

You don’t need to wait for a fractured tooth to get the smile you want. Give Dr. Marsh a call to discuss your options.
