Have you been a big baby about undergoing a dental update? We’re here to say that it’s ok to baby yourself and take “baby steps” to achieve your goal of a youthful smile. Joining us to explain is Dr. Steven Marsh and his mature patient, Gary Stamm.
Question:We've seen so many incredible changes occurring in dental makeovers. How long of a process can this take?
Answer: It often depends upon the amount and type of work to be done. Usually, smile makeovers can be completed in a few visits.
Sometimes, though, we may proceed more gradually due to the patient's wishes, working on one issue at a time.
Question: Gary, why were you interested in having dental work done?
Answer: My primary motivation was really to make sure that my teeth were healthy later in life. I had some bad habits (chewed my nails) that really wore down my upper teeth, so they had to be repaired.

Due to financial and comfort concerns, I wanted to go about fixing my teeth one step at a time, and we were able to do that, which was nice.
Question:Dr. Marsh, how did you proceed with Gary's smile?
Answer: First, we used Zoom whitening to brighten his smile's color.
The next step was to work on the upper teeth, starting with the teeth in the front. In the before photo, you can see that the teeth have been worn down and are therefore shorter than they should be. This was corrected by veneers.

Next we moved to the upper back teeth. There were some silver fillings in the back, and they were replaced. The back teeth were repaired by using crowns.

We then worked on the lower teeth.
Question:Gary, how do you feel about your smile now?
Answer: I like my smile a lot. It looks good, it feels good, and I have a comfortable bite.

Most of us want a job done yesterday. But for dental work, sometimes slow and steady wins the race for a beautiful smile. If you'd like more information, give Dr. Marsh's office a call. The number's next. My thanks to Dr. Marsh and Gary Stamm.
