Question: This past year has seen a whole new emphasis on dental makeovers in the media. Why do you think people are interested?
Answer: It shows the “fun” p art of dentistry. It’s not having a cavity filled or having to have a root canal. It’s a creative process that can have really amazing results.
Question: What kind of feedback do you get from people? What draws them to want to get their teeth made over?
Answer:
- People really love to look at before and after pictures.
- It used to be that the whitening photos would draw the most attention, but now people tend to have the biggest reaction to the ability to fix broken, dark, and misaligned teeth without orthodontistry.
- These changes can often be make in two appointments.
Question: What’s the first step if someone is interested in a dental makeover?
Answer: When they come into the office, we have a machine called the “imager,” where we can take a photo of their teeth and visually demonstrate what can be done to improve their smile—and how that work would be done.

Question: Let’s look at some examples by taking a look at a bunch of Golden Opportunities viewers who have had dental makeovers.
Answer: This is a picture we’ve used before, but it’s a great example of how extreme a makeover can be. This woman was about to embark on a book tour and decided to make over not only her teeth, but her hair and glasses as well, for a whole new look. We made a postcard using her before and after pictures, and Jay Leno used it in his “Headlines.”

This lady wanted to improve her smile. We did her upper teeth first, using veneers and some gum contouring. She was pleased with the results and followed through with having the lower teeth done.

This woman had a large gap between her front teeth. After watching GO, she came in and we were able to close the gap, again using veneers.

This woman had darkened, worn teeth that were remade with veneers for a more youthful smile.

Men are also interested in cosmetic dentistry. This gentleman had put four children through college and wanted to do something for himself. We were able to improve his “fallen lip” look through the use of veneers.
